BTS 'ON' Breaks 500 Million Streaming on Spotify, 16th Record in Career

BTS's (BTS) song "ON" has exceeded 500 million cumulative plays on Spotify, a global music streaming platform. Big Hit Music, the agency, said on the 8th that "On" has set another milestone in BTS by recording 500 million streams on Spotify as of the 6th."

"On" is the title song of BTS's fourth full-length album "MAP OF THE SOUL: 7," released in February 2020, and reflects the seven years since its debut, capturing the determination and identity as a team with intense performance. At the time of its release, it was hotly received by global fans, ranking 4th in the US Billboard main single chart "Hot 100" and 21st in the UK's official single chart "Top 100."

The record is significant in that it is the 16th group song in BTS that has exceeded 500 million streams. Earlier, several hit songs including "Dynamite," "Butter" and "FAKE LOVE" have been played more than 500 million times, making them a global sound that represents K-pop.

"On" is a song that shows BTS' musical maturity that encompasses both performance and message, and is considered the "peak of BTS's identity and narrative" among fans.
